We will be visiting some new Spanish wines this week. VINA ALJIBES WHITE (Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay) - $14.99 - Importers Notes: This wine is fresh, clean and crisp. In the nose, tropical fruits of the Sauvignon Blanc combine with the milky notes of the Chardonnay. In the mouth this wine is incredibly fruity & intense with a medium-long finish. Minimal time in oak makes this wine smooth and soft on the palate. Pairs well with white fish, salmon and salads. A great addition to any spring meal.

VINA ALJIBES ROSE (100% Syrah) - $12.99 - Importers Notes: Los Aljibes winery will never stop surprising us with incredible wines for amazing prices. Its bright red cherry color pops from the bottle. Wild strawberries, raspberries & lilacs in the nose led by an incredibly clean, refreshing and inviting palate. The perfect rose for every occasion!

PINUAGA NATURE TEMPRANILLO - $15.99 - A vividly bright wine with an immense amount of black and red fruits, spices and enough complexity to keep this wine an interesting value! An extraordinary wine that speaks for itself!

HEREDAD UGARTE CRIANZA (92% Tempranillo 8% Garnacha) $16.99 - The perfect wine for any occasion! A super value from Rioja. This wine has an excellently long and aromatic aftertaste

SOLPOST (50% Garnacha, 35% Carinena, 15% Cabernet) - $24.99 - This is one of those wines that make a big impression on most of those who taste it. The perfect pairing for the wonderful sunsets of the Norhtwest (Solpost means sunset in Catalan, one of Spain's four official languages).

We will start the Spanish weekend off with our Friday tasting this week.

Our white will be CASTELO DE MEDINA VERDEJO - $13.99 - Verdejo grapes have been cultivated in Rueda forever and their wines were already famous centuries ago, as it was always a favorite to the Kings. The fact that Costelo de Media makes such a great valued wine is no mystery: old vines, new technology, and ancient know-how! (importers notes)

The red is CASA DE ILLANA TRADICION (45% Bobal, 30% Tempranillo 25% Syrah) - $12.99 - "Tempranillo, syrah and an indigenous grape called bobal are the components: this offers distinctive flavors of tobacco, licorice and spice." The Seattle Times - Paul Gregutt

Our distributor will be taking our pre order in the next week so we need to give them the numbers soon.

Marilyn Monroes birthday is June 1st which is when the wine is released. Any orders that we get should arrive by the second week of June.

The price did go down this year from $30.99 to $25.99.
