We will be visting the Italian winery of Carpineto. In the line up will be DOGAJOLO TOSCANO BIANCO - $12.99 (reg $14.99) Grapes: Chardonnay grapes blended with Grechetto, and Sauvignon Blanc. Bouquet: pleasantly fruity, elegantly aromatic and harmonious. Flavor: medium body with agreeable acidity and a dry, pleasantly velvety, soft finish. Excellent as an aperitif or with typical Mediterranean cuisine, such as salads, pasta, seafood and white meats. Excellent also with flavourful, spicy Asian foods. DOGAJOLO TOSCANO ROSSO - $12.99 (reg $14.99) - Grapes: Sangiovese up to 70%; Cabernet and other varieties up to 30%. The exact proportions can vary with each vintage. Bouquet: very fruity and intense, with hints of cherry, coffee, vanilla and spice. Flavor: full, soft on the palate, complex, well developed. Given its fruitiness, Dogajolo can be paired with first courses and white meats, but shows at its best with full-flavored dishes such as roasts, grilled meats, cold cuts and Tuscan regional specialties. CHIANTI CLASSICO - $18.99 (reg $20.99) - Grapes: From vineyards planted to a minimum of 80% Sangiovese and a maximum of 20% of Canaiolo and other red grape varietals. Bouquet: intense with hints of violets, berries and cherries. Flavor: velvety, well rounded, full bodied and well balanced. Goes well with grilled red meats and game. CHIANTI CLASSICO RISERVA - $ 24.99 (reg $27.99) Finishing: after bottling the wine is aged in temperature controlled cellars for at least 10 months before release. In order to deliver the highest quality Carpineto has chosen to age this wine longer than the 2 years required by appellation rules for a Riserva. Color: intense ruby red with garnet reflections. Bouquet: elegant, full, harmonious and persistent with suggestions of vanilla and raspberry. VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO RISERVA - $35.99 - This exceptional red wine derives its name from the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, located in the province of Siena. The term "Nobile" seems to originate from the fact that in the past its production was reserved exclusively for the aristocratic, noble families of the town. From vineyards planted to a minimum of 70% Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) and a maximum of 30% of Canaiolo, Merlot and other authorized grape varietals. Color: brilliant ruby red with a tendency to garnet. Bouquet: ethereal, extraordinarily elegant with hints of violet and wood. Flavor: dry, harmonic, fruity and velvety, with an elegant texture and long finish.
