It has been awhile since we visited an Oregon winery so we have AMITY VINEYARDS for this weeks tasting. Stop by and visit with Matt Gibson the regional sales manager as we enjoy discovering Amity's wines. <><><><><><><><><><> RIESLING $17.99 - The 2007 Willamette Riesling shows both aromas and flavors consisting of lemon-lime candies, grapefruit zest, mineral notes of flint, with hints of petrol. This is a luscious, full-bodied and well-balanced wine that will match well with grilled hens and shellfish. GEWURZTRAMINER - $20.99 - This wine smells and tastes like a traditional Alsatian Dry Gewürztraminer with aromas of lime, flint, lychee, pear and spice. On the palate the wine exhibits flavors of lime zest and lychee that leads to a spicy finish.
WILLAMETTE VALLEY PINOT NOIR - $20.99 (reg $25.99) - A complex nose with aromas of cherry and wild raspberry, mixed with notes of milk chocolate and cassis, leads into a smooth, soft wine.
CRANNEL VINEYARD PINOT NOIR - $31.99 (reg $44.99) - The Pinot Noir from Crannell Vineyards has consistently been our earliest maturing wine and the 2007 vintage is no different. This wine is loaded with aromas of red and black cherry, spice and violets. It’s well rounded and smooth with a lasting finish of cocoa, spice and cherry.
LATE HARVEST RIESLING - $15.99 - (reg. $20.99) It is excellent for sipping by itself or as a complement to light desserts. Grapes harvested October 16, 2004-Sugar at harvest: 27 Brix. Residual sugar at bottling 13% ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ all information taken from the Amity Vineyards web site.
