This week we will be featuring GOOSE RIDGE VINEYARDS from Benton City. GOOSE RIDGE ESTATE VINEYARDS AND WINERY is a family-owned and operated winery dedicated to limited production, handcrafted wines from select, estate-grown grapes. The Monson family's vineyard is planted on a south-facing slope in Washington's Columbia Valley adjacent to Red mountain that consistently yields rich, ripe grapes. Acclaimed winemaker Charlie Hoppes has his pick of the vineyard. Fermenting and aging wines in small lots from a handful of blocks carefully selected for their exceptional character and complexity is exactly what the Monsons had in mind for Goose Ridge when they founded the winery in 1999. The family has farmed in the Columbia Valley for four decades and is known for their commitment to quality. Goose Ridge Vineyard is built on that tradition. 2007 COLUMBIA VALLEY ESTATE CHARDONNAY - $14.99 (reg. $17.99) - Winemaker Notes: Tropical fruit and citrus aromas fill your nose invitingly. Flavors of pineapple and citrus blend well with hints of apple, pear and a touch of toasty vanilla. Rich and smooth, this wine has a buttery, cream finish.
2007 COLUMBIA VALLEY ESTATE g3 RED WINE - $14.99 - (reg. $17.99)Winemaker Notes: Full and luscious our 2007 g3 red blend is a delightful drink. Rich flavors of berry and dark cherry intertwine with notes of vanilla and sweet spice to create a long and supple finish. Aged for 20 months in French and American oak barrels this wine is a blend of 48% syrah, 28% merlot, 22% cabernet, 2% malbec.
2005 COLUMBIA VALLEY VIREO - $20.99 - (reg. $30.99) Winemaker Notes: Our 2005 Vireo is a blend of 39% Syrah, 37% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Sauvignon. A luscious wine with notable depth and structure, Vireo is full of concentrated blackberry and black cherry with notes of licorice and cedar. Aging for 21 months in small oak barrels graced Vireo with hints of spice and a supple texture. Scored 90 pts from The Wine Advocate
2006 COLUMBIA VALLEY ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON - $24.99 (reg. $39.99)- Winemaker Notes: Our 2006 Estate Cabernet has ample supply of dark and rich flavors of black plum, blackberry and cherry integrated well with cedar and licorice. Full bodied and complex with hints of toastiness from 21 months in 60% American and 40% French Oak barrels.
