We will have three wines from BRANDBORG WINERY out of Oregon and two wines from L'ECOLE NO. 41. BRANDBORG GEWURZTRAMINER - $15.99 (reg $17.99) - The wine is a shimmering pale golden color with hints of green around the edges. The nose is a complex blend of floral, spice and fruit characters consistent to this exotic variety. There is evident leeche, tea rose, pink grapefruit and pie spices in the aromas. The mouthfeel and textures are an intriguing blend of sweet tropical fruit with a pithy grapefruit acidity keeping the whole impression in balance. The finish is long and the mouthfeel is full and rich. 595 cases Bottled cork free September 2009
BRANDBORG PINOT GRIS - $15.99 (reg $17.99) The wine is a lovely pale straw in color. We ferment this wine cool in tank to preserve the fresh floral, herbal and tropical fruit notes and the refreshing acidity. The aromas are a lush combination of golden delicious apples, tropical pineapple and guava with spice notes of jasmine highlighted by white pepper and sage. The entry is full and unctuous and the dominant flavors continue the apple and pineapple themes. The acid is crisp and the finish is long and lingering. We finish our pint gris bone dry and yet the fruit and texture suggest a continuing sweet fruit impression.
BRANDBORG LOVE PUPPETS PINOT NOIR - $20.99 (reg $30.99) The wine is deeply colored with hues of ruby and purple around the edges. The aromas and bouquet are warm and inviting with candied sour cherries, blackberries, persimmon pudding and spice cake with notes of racy oak toast. The flavors revolve around great dark cherry fruit. The mouthfeel is nothing short of voluptuous. This wine coats the mouth with a warm pleasing impression that lasts and lasts and lasts. There are well integrated very fine tannins that are nicely balanced by refreshing acidity. This wine is the real deal, a very decadent and hedonistic pinot noir. All of the grapes in this wine come from our favorite dry farmed vineyards, all with yields of less than two tons per acre. Notes from Brandborg Vineyard & Winery website.
